For several years I’ve worked for a global marketing company, building the technology behind the websites of some of the world’s best-known brands.

I’ve lived in Herefordshire for years, and my aim as a consultant is to help the businesses around me get the best out of the technology available to them. The county is full of good independent shops, growers, and family trades that are the life and soul of the place, as well as larger firms and organisations putting it on the map. Whatever the size, a lot of their websites don’t do them justice: stuck a decade back with low-resolution photos, costing more each month than they should, or too fragile for anyone to dare touch.

If you’re looking for something sleek and modern that works without costing the earth, I’d be more than happy to help. You can have a website you run and update yourself, without the unnecessary monthly fees so many companies bolt on; or, if you’d rather not think about it at all, I’ll look after the whole thing for you at a small, honest price. My fee is fair for local businesses, delivered by someone you can actually find. No call centre, no London price tag, no being talked down to. Just a neighbour who wants to help your business grow and flourish.

A fresh, fast website with a proper eye for detail, built to do exactly what your business needs and nothing it doesn't. You can be as hands-on with the design as you like: sit with me and we'll shape it together, or steer it yourself with a bit of guidance from me. Either way we use modern tooling to get the best results for your business, and hosting is sized to what you actually use, not an eye-watering monthly bill. When it's done I'll show you how to update it yourself, write it all down, and hand it over. It's yours.

Changes at a fixed price per job, agreed before I start. Just ask. No retainer, no lock-in, no surprise bills.

Hosting made simple and honest. Most local businesses just need a straightforward static site, and I'll host that from £5 a month: fast, secure, and a fraction of the usual bill. (A shop or booking system needs a bit more under the bonnet; I'll tell you plainly what yours costs to run, and never more than it has to.) When you want something changed, you ask, I quote a fixed price before I start, and you only pay for that one job. No monthly bill hanging over you.

AI, Gently

£350 a half-day

£275 for my first few. A pre-chat, hands-on time on your own laptop, and a plain-English guide to keep.

AI without the hype or the worry. In half a day, on your own laptop, we'll take one or two of the jobs that eat your week (drafting the newsletter, answering enquiries, replying to reviews, or a website that updates itself from a spreadsheet) and make them lighter. You'll leave with a simple written guide to exactly what we set up, and I'll always be honest about where AI genuinely helps and where it really isn't worth the bother. Nothing gets automated that you don't understand, and nothing leaves your hands.

Common questions#

Will I be locked in?
No. When I build or fix something for you, I show you how it works, write it down in plain English, and hand you the keys: the site and the domain name are yours. If you ever want to take them elsewhere, you can. Keep me on for a hand if you’d like one, because you asked, not because you’re stuck.
What does a change cost?
A simple fixed price per job, always agreed before I start, so the bill is never a surprise. No monthly retainer, no meter running, and several small tweaks asked for together count as one job rather than a string of little charges. Tell me what you need and I’ll tell you exactly what it will cost.
Is AI safe for my business?
AI is just another tool in the toolbox. I’ll sit with you and show you where it genuinely helps, whether that’s the drafting or the repetitive jobs that quietly eat your week, and how to get a good result quickly so you can do it yourself. Nothing gets handed to a machine that you don’t understand, and nothing leaves your hands. Think of it as upgrading from a scythe to a combine harvester: faster, better yield, and somewhat more fun.
Do I need to be technical?
Not at all. I write everything down and show you what to do; I always ensure my clients have confidence in the knowledge I provide.
